The Friends of Charles Darwin

The Friends of Charles Darwin were founded in 1994 to campaign for the depiction of their hero, Charles Darwin, on a Bank of England bank note. The great man finally appeared on the new £10 note in November, 2000.

Due to popular demand, we're still taking on new members. So if you can truly say "Charlie is my Darwin", and you'd like to be able to write the letters FCD after your name, why not join us? It's free!

The Beagle Project Shop

The Beagle Project aims to celebrate Charles Darwin's 200th birthday by building a sailing replica of HMS Beagle and recreating the Voyage of the Beagle with an international crew of researchers, aspiring scientists and science communicators. The voyage will apply the techniques of 21st century science to Darwin's journey, inspiring a new generation of scientists and promoting the public understanding of evolution and wider science.

The project is accepting donations, so why not get over there and make a small (or large) contribution? Alternatively, why not buy something from their shop?
