From: The Patent Office

5th September 1990

Dear Sir

With reference to your letter received in this Office on 31 August 1990.

I am enclosing a booklet entitled "Patent Protection" and your attention is drawn in particular to paragraph 1-4 (Industrial Application). As you will see perpetual motion machines are not considered as patentable items by the U.K. Patent Office, it would seem unlikely therefore a patents exists for a mechanism for switching off such a machine.

If you care to undertake some research in this matter, the Patent Department, Central Library, William Brown Street, Liverpool, Telephone 051-207 2147 forms part of our patents information network and should be able to help you.

Yours faithfully,

S A HORNSBY (MRS)
